Guest ajaycad Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Does anyone know what the little tab that sticks out at the rear of the passenger door window frame exterior is for Quote
Guest MATT Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 i think it is to support the glass (when the window is open) when you slam the door shut. You should see the wife's Vauxhall tigra, when you shut the boot, the passenger window opens, and then closes. apparently its to allow the air pressure to escape. MATT Quote
Guest thobbs Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 I always thought they were something to do with guiding the window, if it windy and you are putting the windows up whilst travelling at 70-ish? Quote

HJT Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Does anyone know what the little tab that sticks out at the rear of the passenger door window frame exterior is for I've often wondered that. Seen them on loads of cars and never known what they are for. Howard Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 They are to help guide an open window closed, when travelling at speed. I wondered the same thing and asked the question some years ago to someone in car design. Quote
Goofygolfer Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Actually they are for shredding sponges when washing the car! Fords have shares in a sponge manufactoring plant. <_< Quote
